  • The dining experience was fun for my wife and I. It was our first fine dining meal in Sendai. We appreciated the summer flavors of Miyagi and Japan. The freshness of the food is so nice. We hope to enjoy the flavors in the autumn. It would be nice if the staff were relaxed and more confident. Thank you so much

  • This is definitely a gem in Sandai. There are so many dishes to recommend, and my favorite is the 金目鯛 kinmedai rice. It was cooked to perfect with a variety of flavors. The drink selection is good too.

  • Delicious food with a warm, welcoming atmosphere! As a foreigner, I really appreciated the English translation memo explaining each dish—it made ordering so much easier and added to the dining experience. Highly recommend for both locals and visitors

  • e. is a fantastic Japanese restaurant that rivals higher end/more expensive offerings. It is a must if you are in the Sendai area or even a strong day trip recommendation if you are in the Greater Tokyo Area. If you are looking for a restaurant that serves traditional but modern Japanese cuisine, isn't extremely expensive, and isn't fully booked for months on end, look no further. I ordered the Omakase tasting course, which turned out to consist of 9 items. Since there wasn't any menu, and the staff spoke limited English, I was very surprised and delighted that they had hand written notes, drawings and explanations for each dish as they came out. Such a thoughtful thing to do. Considering this was my first time dining here, and this was a tasting menu, I'm not sure if you'd end up getting the same thing with a later visit. I noticed that my menu/food was slightly different than the other patrons dining. We had some courses the same and others either the same or missing. So, rather than going through each item I'll just give an general overview and highlights. Each item was prepared perfectly. It is also served at the correct eating temperature. They are paying attention to detail by not serving something extremely hot or too cold. This is some high level Michelin stuff we are talking about here. Everything was seasoned and balanced. All except the wagyu dish. That was a standout. The wagyu with the sesame sauce was a flavor bomb, so polarizing when compared to everything else. Not to say everything else was bad. But compared to the wagyu, it was just typical of how high level Japanese cuisine is executed, simple high quality ingredients and high level skill/execution with extremely balanced flavors. There isn't really anything to complain about. If there is one thing I'd criticize, it was that the theming of the tasting menu wasn't cohesive. It is a grand tour of traditional Japanese cuisine though so I can't really say it is possible to make very themed. Oh and the dessert was kind of the only thing not very Japanese. It was some kind of a parfait thing with jelly, cookies, fruit and cheese. Still good, just an odd choice to me. This meal was definitely a highlight and one I won't forget anytime soon. It is also cheaper than other restaurants that offer the same type of experience. The reservations aren't fully booked for months either. e. is a hidden gem that you should experience before it blows up and becomes impossible to eat at. They give you so much food that the giant rice bowl towards the end of the meal gets turned into onigiri (if you can't finish it like me), and then you can eat that later and re-live the memories again!

  • The food is better than even many Michelin Star restaurants (in Paris and Australia). Definitely traditional Japanese with modern touch. It is one of the most technical dishes I have eaten in years. But the most amazing thing is the waiter Mr Sato translate the 11 courses meal into Posit notes, the restaurant gave my son an extra dessert even though we did not order food especially for my son, and at the end the chef waited for us and waved for us until we turned at the end of the street like almost 3 mins. It is the most memorable restaurant experiences in years.

  • Extremely value-for-money Japanese kapo restaurant using freshest ingredients. The humble master is highly skilled and at times very challenging. Everything was super delicious. I will visit again if I ever go to Sendai.
